<h2>[FP2357] - STUDY OF MATERNAL AND NEONATAL RISK FACTORS CAUSING RETINOPATHY OF PREMATURITY (ROP). </h2>
<p>Aim: To identify maternal and neonatal risk factors causing ROP. Methods: A Prospective cohort observational Study was done on 300 neonates for 2 yrs. Thorough examination was done. The neonates were then followed up and association of risk factors with ROP were analysed. Result: In neonates with BW ≤1.5kg(163),43 developed ROP. While, with BW >1.5kg(137),5 had ROP. In neonates with GA ≤32 wks(130),40 developed ROP. While, in GA >32 wks (170), 8 had ROP. In neonates who received O2 therapy for ≥5 days(132),35 developed ROP, whereas neonates who received oxygen therapy <5 days(168),13 developed ROP. Neonates having mothers with preeclampsia(162),32 developed ROP, whereas mothers not having preeclampsia(138), 16 developed ROP. Neonates with mothers having anemia(205) ,41 developed ROP, whereas mothers without anemia(95), 7 developed ROP. Conclusion: GA ≤32 weeks, BW ≤1.5kg and O2 therapy ≥ 5 days, maternal anemia & preeclampsia were significantly associated with the development of ROP.</p>
